Dr. Yazbak is a board-certified, Vanderbilt-trained Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, raised in Appleton, Wisconsin, where she grew to appreciate family values, hard work, and the importance of having an open mind and heart. She graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire before completing 4 years of dental school at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. She was excited to immerse herself in the hospitality, culture, and climate of The South when she accepted and completed a 4-year residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dr. Yazbak’s path to oral surgery began in college when she majored in pre-medical studies and sociology. Her sociology degree enlightened her as to the many ways a person’s self-confidence can affect his or her personality. For example, a person comfortable with his or her smile or facial structure will feel that much more empowered to pursue those bolder decisions in life. A young woman may finally have the confidence to ask for that promotion having restored her smile after a bike accident knocked out her front teeth, or an individual may have the courage to ask a love interest on a date after surgical correction of a severe overbite. Dr. Yazbak realized the transformative potential of oral surgery to help individuals become the version of themselves they’ve always dreamed they could be.

While pursuing her specialty training at Vanderbilt, she trained extensively in the full scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Not surprisingly, she acquired a particular interest in the more detailed surgeries such as implant procedures and corrective jaw surgery which often are major steps towards improved confidence for patients. She also truly enjoys any procedure that gives her the opportunity to improve a patient’s quality of life, even if it may be as “simple” as extracting a painful tooth.

Dr. Yazbak acknowledges that she will always be a “Cheesehead” (an avid Green Bay Packers fan) but enjoys cheering on her new home teams – the Tennessee Titans, the Nashville Predators, and the Nashville Soccer Club. She loves music and appreciates all artists who share their talents in front of an audience, so she feels extremely fortunate to live in Music City and practice in the Hermitage area. She is very close to her parents, to whom she is endlessly grateful for their unconditional love, guidance, and support, as well as her two younger brothers, who are both living inspirations as to how to make the world a better place. Finally, she is blessed to have met her husband in Nashville, who is her perfect partner in every way both in the practice and in life.
